AMC’s Oscar Showcase
Everyone knows that the key to enjoying the Oscars is predicting the winners. So even if you’re voting for Kate or Angelina, it’s much more satisfying to call a long shot for Tanjari or Viola. Do your Oscar catch-up at the AMC Theater Oscar Showcase.
The theatre at Yonge and Dundas is showing all five best picture nominee’s on February 21st for $30 (including All You Can Eat popcorn!). That’s five movies for the price of one (if you count your popcorn and Diet Coke). Veg out for a whole day, eat all the popcorn you can handle and get the chance to impress all your buds as the most informed at an Oscar night gathering. As a bonus, you’ll get to see the five movies from last year that have been recognized as the best of the best by industry professionals.
If you do commit to the full marathon, bring tissues. It’s a pretty heavy program this year, opening with a look at gay rights and activism at 10:30am. Throughout the day viewers will also experience the Holocaust, epic pre-Katrina tragedy in New Orleans, poverty in Mumbai, and presidential drama that opens at 9:45pm.
