Men’s Summer Fashion 2012
This summer has many new fashion trends for men, so if you want to stay up to date on all the latest trends, follow these guidelines as you start to choose your wardrobe.
Bold colors. Last year saw some bold colors being introduced as accents to otherwise neutral ensembles. But this year, those color accents will become the main colors. You can pull colors into your wardrobe by putting orange, green, and mustard colored shirts under your blazer, or by wearing a pair of pants of the same color with a black or neutral shirt. To stay in with the bold colors that you will see this summer, try to have at least one piece of every outfit with a bold color.
Off whites. In addition to bold colors being in, there’s also a new white. Rather than the bright and clean white of the past, there is a rising popularity this year in off whites. Everything from eggshell to dirty white will be see this year instead of white, so be sure to pick yourself up a blazer or pair of pants that are not quite white for this summer. These off whites go perfectly with darker bold colors.
A trend that is making a comeback this year is the double breasted jacket. This year, the designers are coming out with more and different types of double breasted jackets that are great for every type of occasion, from the formal to the casual. You can also now find them in a growing number of colors that are sure to match whatever you’re wearing.
Trends in pants have begun to dramatically shift directions. The skin tight skinny jeans that have been popular the last couple of years are being switched out for much looser and even flowing pants options. These new wider pant legs can be found in both the business suits and in casual wear. This same trend for looser fitting clothes is being seen even more in suits this summer, with boxier cuts becoming more popular.
All of these new trends are put together in a new trend of mixing the high and the low. That means mixing the informal and more eclectic clothing articles with luxury fabrics or formal pieces. With these trends, you can easily mix a nice pair of suit pants along with a t-shirt, or a blazer with blue jeans over a button down shirt that’s loose-fitting and only half-tucked in. However you choose to mix and match your clothes this season, you’re sure to do it in style when following these summer trends.
