Taylor Swift always looks so fresh and flawless. Here’s how to re-create the look she wore to the People’s Choice Awards.

Base: Moisturize using an oil-free formula, then apply a makeup base all over to achieve a silky smooth surface. We like Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer.

Foundation: For blemish-free skin, try a foundation with salicylic acid (acne fighting agent) added to them.

*For a polished look with full coverage, make sure to apply foundation using a good quality makeup brush, like Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush.

Cheeks: To achieve a warm, yet girly glow like Taylor’s, use a soft cream blush with high pigmentation. You can use your fingers to lightly tap and rub the blush on.

Eyes: Add a hint of silver or off-white to the inner corners of the eyes. This will pop the whites of the eyes and make you look more awake. For a neutral shade on the lids, use a shadow that’s 2-3 shades darker than your skin colour.

Eyes: For definition, line the eyes with a waterproof black pencil eyeliner like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero. For the bottom, all you want to do is fill in the spaces between the lower lashes, so use a light hand. For the top, pull the lid taut with one hand, and use the other to lightly glide the eyeliner from inner to outer corner. Then using a clean eyeliner brush or Q-tip, gently smudge the line to soften it up.

Eyes: To achieve full, thick lashes like Taylor, look for mascaras that are volumizing and lengthening at the same time. Apply one coat, wait for it to almost dry before applying the next coat, then the next coat. Leave the bottom lashes bare, or lightly apply a single coat. Our favourite is Lancome Hypnose in Noir.

Lips: Taylor’s lips look natural, like she just bit into a strawberry. Start with freshly exfoliated lips (a mixture of brown sugar and honey works well), use a lip moisturizer for a smooth surface, then blot a lipstick instead of smearing it. This allows the colour to softly sit on the lips, without harsh lines. Remember to smack your lips together to get an even distribution.
