This fall I took a cue from the Canadian geese and flew south. No, I wasn’t going to wait out the winter in a tropical paradise; I journeyed to Dallas, Texas to watch one of my dearest friends, SB, get married.

I was only there for the weekend, so that didn’t leave much time for shopping in between indulging in some Lonestar beers and dodging rowdy college football fans (football fans are what hockey fans would look like in 35 degree weather) and the actual wedding ceremony, of course. But I managed to find a few spare hours to roam the streets of Dallas looking for some hidden treasures.

Anyone who knows me knows I live and die for accessories, so it’s no wonder I fell so in love with Alex and Ani. No, they’re not people I met at the reception – it’s the eco-friendly jewelery line created by Carolyn Rafaelian. My wedding date (my lovely BFF, Katie) and I stumbled into a little boutique and I immediately fell in love with the pile of Alex and Ani bracelets on display.

I’m always looking for more bangles and bracelets to add to my collection, but I have trouble finding one that won’t slip off my wrists. So the thing I loved most about these bracelets (aside from the muted shade of the metal and the adorable charms – I went with a coppery-gold fleur de lis) is that they’re adjustable! When I showed my purchase to Katie she grabbed two, a gold and a silver – the mixed metals matched the silver cocktail dress she wore to the reception perfectly – for herself.
