When a new artist comes around worthy of the buzz following them we are going to show them some love. The artist we believe is the next big thing is a 23 year-old rapper named Wale from DC.

While the industry is worried the rap game may be dead, Wale is convincing us of the opposite with his impressive wordplay and catchy tracks. He has been on the scene in DC, Maryland and Virginia making hits since 2006, but it is only now that the North is hearing about him.

In 2007, Wale took to Europe touring with well-known DJ and producer Mark Ronson. The response for Wale in Europe was so positive that he ended up signing a production deal with Ronson’s Allido Records.

Wale has got 2 million plays on MySpace and his third mixtape, 1000 Miles and Running, has had 30,000+ downloads. He is about to break on the scene in a big way and we will be proud to say, “I told you so!”
